New Orleans St Louis Cathedral and Orpheum Theatre Wedding | Brooke & Beau

How did you meet?
We met in High School at 15years old. Beau was a football player at Jesuit & I was a Jesuit Jayette. We started dating on January 10, 2007.

Include a little bit about yourselves. What do you do?
I own an online clothing store, SHOPALIYA.COM & Beau works for his family business, Mothe Funeral Homes where he is the 6th generation to carry on the family legacy.

what is your favorite thing about each other? Share a personal story.
Our favorite is our fairytale love story. We were high school sweethearts for 6 years into college, split up for 6 years without any communication & found each other again by the grace of God, now married living our Happily Ever After!

How did the proposal go? Who proposed to who, were you surprised?
Beau surprised me & proposed at the Roosevelt Hotel in the middle of the Christmas Trees & Lights on December 7, 2018.

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
The ceremony was at St Louis Cathedral, which Beau chose & picked our original first date, January 10, all before he proposed to me! He picked this site because since we were 15, we spoke about getting married in the St Louis Cathedral on January 10 one day in the future!

Where was your Reception held and why did you pick this site?
Our reception was held at the Orpheum Theatre. We picked this venue because it was love at first site for the both of us!

What unique or special things did you do at the reception? (for example, ice sculptures, live painter, glow sticks, sun glasses, 2nd line band, mardi gras indians, memory table, the list goes on of fun things you may have done)
My dad & I started our father daughter dance to “I Loved Her First” then we had a scratch in the music quickly changing the vibe from 0-100 with “Turn Down For What”! We did a hip hop dance that ended with “Choppa Style” & Gumbo, the Saints Mascot Coming onto the dance floor to kickoff the party! We did this because I am a Former Saints Cheerleader & we are all huge saints fans! WHO DAT!

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
Both of our favorite moments in the entire day was the actual ceremony itself. We will never forget the moment that we first truly became husband and wife in Gods eyes.

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
Absolutely! Best day of our lives! Time flies when you’re having fun!

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
I love the idea of a white wedding! Always have! White looks incredible on everyone in my opinion & I wanted my girls to look stunning & feel confident, just as I wanted to feel on my wedding day!

From the Bride – When you first saw the groom, what were you thinking/feeling?
I was so emotional, so grateful that my dreams have all come true! I got my Prince Charming! My prayers were finally answered ♡

From the groom – When you first saw the bride, what were you thinking/feeling?
He said he thought & said out loud “Holy Shit” & his vision immediately went blurry.. he didn’t want to blink bc tears would be streaming down his face. He just hoped to get it together & he did as soon as we met on the alter.

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
La Louisiane, the best! Wedding Cake with almond mousseline icing, the most delicious cake around!

Did you do a first look? If so how did you feel about it? If not, do you wish you had?
No, I always dreamt of seeing my groom for the first time on the alter & I’m so happy I chose to do that & stick with my gut!

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
Yes, Renee Collie. She was incredible & helped me so much in every way! I’m so thankful I had her!

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
I’ll be by Edwin McCain
This was our song back in 2006 & every time we have heard it since then, instant butterflies!

We want to hear YOUR advice for future brides.
I say look at the bigger picture, always! Don’t sweat the small stuff. Most of the time I let the small stuff roll off my shoulder & the big picture was my main focus, this helps BIG TIME! In the end, the small stuff is completely unimportant. Focus on your man or woman, take it all in! This day is about your love, nothing else! The decorations are just fluff compared to your love story!

We work really hard to help come up with a timeline and plan for the portrait list to make sure you are getting the most out of your day. How useful was this for you?
Kacie was OUTSTANDING!! Not only was I impressed by her the entire day, but I got so many compliments on her! She was always there to catch any & every photo every time someone took their phone out. She crushed!!! Every single photo I asked for whether it was on the initial list or added, she got every single one! && on top of that, she’s so sweet, laidback & so helpful! I couldn’t have had a better photographer to work with. By far one of my favorite vendors! I’m so thankful I got to work with Kacie!

Anything else you want to say?
Thank you guys so much for everything! It’s always 1000% with you guys & it goes far!
