Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
Our ceremony was held at St. Anthony of Padua. We chose this church because we loved how beautiful and spacious it was, and the location was perfect. We didn’t want something too far into the city that would make it difficult for our guests to attend.

Where was your reception held and why did you pick this site?
Our reception was at Chateau Country Club. We chose it because we had attended several weddings there and saw firsthand what an amazing job they do. The food is incredible too!

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
We did something a little different for our guest book. Instead of a traditional guest book, we used a New Orleans cookbook and had our guests sign the pages. It was so special to read everyone’s messages, and now we’ll get to see their well wishes every time we cook.

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing.
My favorite part of the day was walking into our reception and seeing all of the people we love gathered together to celebrate with us. It was also amazing to see the vision I had spent the past year planning finally come to life.

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
Yes and no. It definitely goes by fast, but I also felt like I was having an out-of-body experience—in the best way possible. It almost felt like I was watching everything happen while also living it. It’s hard to explain, but because we intentionally took time to soak everything in, we know we’ll remember those moments forever.

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake, and was it delicious?
We used Maurice’s for our wedding cake. It was a traditional wedding cake flavor, and it was absolutely delicious. It was also stunning. When I first saw it, I was honestly taken aback. It was so beautiful, so grand, and exactly what I had envisioned.

Did you do a first look? If so, how did you feel about it?
We did a first look, and I absolutely loved it. It gave us a private moment together before the ceremony where we could calm our nerves and give each other a little pep talk. We also took all of our formal photos beforehand, which meant we didn’t have to miss any time at the reception.

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? Any advice for future brides?
I planned everything myself. It was definitely stressful at times, but staying organized made all the difference. My advice is to trust your instincts and stay true to the vision you originally had for your wedding. Remember, this day is about you and your fiancé—not everyone else’s opinions.

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
We danced to “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)”—yes, the song from The Parent Trap! We wanted something a little more upbeat because we both love to dance. We also wanted a classic song that we could still enjoy hearing 30 years from now.

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
Band—without question. There is nothing quite like the energy that live music brings to a wedding. We had Mojeaux, and they were incredible. The dance floor stayed packed until the lights came on!

What advice would you give future brides?
Stay true to your vision. Everyone will have opinions and advice about what they think you should do, but at the end of the day, your wedding is about two people—you and your fiancé. As long as you don’t lose sight of why you’re getting married in the first place, everything else will fall into place.

Anything else you’d like to share?
Corine was absolutely fabulous! I will recommend her to everyone. She kept everything organized, made sure I always knew where I needed to be, and captured some of the most beautiful photos. She truly became my go-to person throughout the day. Anytime I needed something, she was already on it. I can’t thank her enough for helping make our wedding day so special.
