How did you meet?
We met online while in college at ULM in Monroe, Louisiana.

How did the proposal go? Who proposed to who, were you surprised?
Logan proposed to me by hanging the ring on our Christmas tree inside of an engagement ring ornament. For five days, the ring was hanging on the tree. I never notified even thought Logan repeatedly hinted at it. When I did notice, Logan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
Our wedding ceremony and reception were both at Southern Oaks. We live in Fort Worth, Texas. Southern Oaks made the planning process so easy as they are an all-inclusive venue. Not to mention the property is breathtaking, and they pull out all the stops to make you happy.

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
Logan’s favorite moment was when I pulled up at the end of the aisle in the old Rolls Royce. My favorite moment was having a private dinner for a few minutes during the reception. We were able to talk and reflect for a few minutes(and eat!).

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
We chose La Lousiane Bakery. The wedding cake was almond flavored and the grooms cake was chocolate with cream cheese filling. Both were absolutely delicious. We received so many compliments.

Did you do a first look?
I was dead set against a first look, but in the end we did it so we would have more time at our reception. It ended up being a really special moment for just the two of us.

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
I did not have a coordinator; I planned everything myself. Choosing Southern Oaks made the planning process easy. They already have a lot of decorations, great food, DJ, wonderful staff, and a beautiful backdrop.

If you want to plan your own wedding, it is doable. You need to be well-organized and know what you want! Also, we had a long engagement, and I booked most vendors a year or more in advance.

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
DJ that Southern Oaks provided. He had an amazing radio voice and the party didn’t stop.
