How did you meet?
Dalton and I were introduced through a family member of his. One blind date is all it took!

what is your favorite thing about each other?
Kelli: “Dalton is the most caring and hardworking person I have ever met. He loves big and he loves hard.”
Dalton: “I would have to say her selflessness towards others.”

How did the proposal go? Who proposed to who, were you surprised?
Dalton and I were on a vacation to Banff, Canada and he surprised me with the most romantic proposal I could have ever imagined. We were on a hike around a frozen lake with the snow capped trees surrounding us and it was truly magical. A moment and a feeling I will never forget!

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
Our ceremony was at the ever beautiful St. Louis Cathedral. I have always dreamed of getting married there since I was a little girl and it was just as special as I imagined it would be.

Where was your Reception held and why did you pick this site?
Our reception was at Chateau Country Club. This reception venue actually fell into our laps when our original venue canceled on us. We are so happy with how everything turned out that it would have been our first choice!

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
The biggest hit of the night was the marquee lights from Alpha Lit New Orleans. They lit up our dance floor and really made a great focal point! We also had a live painter, Kelly Boyett, who is absolutely incredible! and at the end of the night, we had a second line from Kinfolk Brass Band who sealed off a wonderful night!

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
Being able to walk down the aisle and see each other for the first time was both of our favorite moment. It was an incredible feeling that we will both never forget.

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
Before you know it, it’s over and the whole day just seems like a dream. Enjoy every second!

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
Our colors were Cabernet, Navy, and Gold. We wanted to stick with more winter colors since we were getting married in January.

From Kelli – When you first saw Dalton, what were you thinking/feeling?
that I cannot believe I am finally here and this is happening. such a surreal feeling!

From Dalton- When you first saw Kelli, what were you thinking/feeling?
that we finally made it!

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
Our baker was La Louisiane and our wedding cake was almond cake, with almond mousseline, and american buttercream. Our grooms cake was alternating chocolate and red velvet cake, with white chocolate mousseline, and chocolate buttercream. ABSOLUTE PERFECTION.

Did you do a first look? If so how did you feel about it? If not, do you wish you had?
We chose not to do a first look and I am so glad we stuck with tradition. The moment of seeing each other at the aisle is a feeling you can’t describe.

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
We had a day of coordinator, All About Events, that helped our day go as smooth as ever. It really helped us have peace of mind that everything was being taken care of, such a great help!

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
Our first dance song was Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis. We chose this song because shortly after our engagement, my grandmother passed away and she was a huge Elvis fan. So we decided to have her with us at our wedding through our first dance song.

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
We had Dat Band and they were absolutely incredible! They had people on their feet all night long! Highly recommend!!

We want to hear YOUR advice for future brides.
Just breathe!! Try to plan accordingly with the things that mean the most to you but ultimately try to be flexible and give yourself grace. At the end of the day, you get to marry your best friend and that’s all that matters.
