Katie and Michael’s relationship started with a Tinder match and a first date at Bulldog Beer Garden in Baton Rouge, but it didn’t take long for things to turn into something much bigger. Between living in Baton Rouge, spending weekends in New Orleans, and hanging out at home with their two very spoiled cats, Ash and Ori, the two built a relationship that feels equal parts fun, comfortable, and completely genuine.
One of the things they love most about each other is how naturally they balance one another out. Katie loves Michael’s sense of humor and his ability to stay present and enjoy life as it comes, while Michael says Katie’s warmth and personality make her impossible not to be drawn to. They’re the kind of couple that can make each other laugh in any situation, which probably explains why even Michael’s proposal nerves in City Park didn’t last long before Katie was already crying and saying yes.
Their wedding at the Audubon Tea Room felt like a perfect reflection of them — timeless, personal, and very New Orleans. From cocktails named after their cats to a groom’s cake modeled after the couch their cats destroyed at home, every detail felt meaningful without taking itself too seriously. They surrounded themselves with family memories, classic white florals and greenery, and ended the night the best way possible: with a second line through Uptown New Orleans.
Even with all the beautiful details, their favorite moments were the simple ones — especially their first look, where both immediately got emotional seeing each other for the first time. Through all the planning, they kept coming back to what mattered most: celebrating with the people they love and soaking in every second together before the night flew by way too fast.
