How did you meet?
We met at LSU during our junior year. Dakota and I were both business majors and in an organization on campus (Delta Sigma Pi). We had a formal in the spring of 2013, and I asked Dakota if he would like to go with me. I’m thankful now that I was so brave!

Include a little bit about yourselves.
We live in Houston now for Dakota’s job at the Royal Bank of Cananda as an ICanadant Banker. I am a fourth/fifth grade math and science teacher at a private school here in Houston. We have one dog, Ele, who we rescued together in college. We are getting our 8 week old golden retriever mid December!

What is your favorite thing about each other?
Dakota is the sweetest person that I have ever met. He always plans the most fun date nights and makes me feel like the queen of our family. Four days before we got married Dakota picked me up and brought me to my favorite Mexican restaurant even though he’s not the biggest fan and had cookies delivered to me at work. It’s the little things in life that make me feel so warm inside 🙂

A few days after we started dating, a bee stung me and Kelsey brought Benadryl to my work at the drop of a hat. She is so caring.

How did the proposal go?
Dakota proposed to me at the Mardi Paws parade on the lakefront in Mandeville. Our float’s theme was “Poochlorette will you accept this rose” and at the end of the route, Dakota got down on one knee with a rose and asked me to marry him. Our close family was there and of course our little dog, Ele.

Where was your ceremony?
Our ceremony was held at Holy Name of Jesus. It’s a gorgeous church!

Where was your Reception?
Our reception was at The Audubon Tea Room. We loved the Tea Room’s charm!

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
We had a live painter at our wedding. The painting came out beautiful! We can’t wait to hang it up.

What was your favorite part of the day?
My favorite part was dancing the night away with the Boogie Men!

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
Yes, your wedding will fly by. Enjoy each moment!

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
I liked the charcoal grey bridesmaid dresses and then picked out light flowers that matched.

From the Bride – When you first saw the groom, what were you thinking/feeling?
I loved his smile! I had a sense of calm come over me when I got to the altar because he always makes me feel so relaxed.

From the groom – When you first saw the bride, what were you thinking/feeling?
I loved her dress! Kelsey looked amazing.

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake?
Our cake was from La Louisiane, and it was delicious. It was a traditional wedding cake flavor. They are meticulous when it comes to decorating their cakes!

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself?
We had a day of coordinator who was simply wonderful. She handled everything for us the day of and gave us plenty of ideas during the planning stages. Thankfully my mom did so much for me as I was in Houston during the planning months. Thank you, mom! You are the best!

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
We chose “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” by Franki Valli and the Four Seasons. We like this song because of the words and it’s upbeat and fun!

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
We had the Boogie Men! They are a blast! We danced the entire night!!

We want to hear YOUR advice for future brides.
Enjoy everything from the planning to your wedding night! It is going to be the best weekend of your life. Soak it all in and take mental pictures!

Anything else you want to say?
Thank you, Studio Tran! Y’all are awesome!
