Ugo + Lindsey | New Orleans Uptown Holy Name and Audubon Wedding

So excited to share on the blog Lindsey & Ugo’s wedding! I had been waiting for what seemed like forever to photograph this wedding. Probably because the moment I met Lindsey I knew I wanted to photograph her wedding and she wasn’t even engaged yet!

I met Lindsey and her twin sister Lauran when I was photographing their friend Alexis’s wedding (which you can see that gorgeous wedding right by clicking here).

I fell in love with all three amazing girls! They partied the night away at the Audubon Tea Room which is a gorgeous venue for a New Orleans, Louisiana wedding.  You can view some other amazing Tea Room weddings here.  Congratulations to Lindsey & Ugo.

How did you meet?
We met at the Santa run in New Orleans! Ugo was with three friends from Brazil and I was with some friends from here and we had a mutual friend Jon Fox who introduced us.

How did the proposal go?
We were going to meet my family for lunch at Tableau and he said why don’t we stop and do one of this caricature things. And I said no that’s so touristy and waste of money haha! And he said please I’m not from here let’s do it. We ended up doing it and when the artist was finished drawing he turned the paper around and it said will you marry me? Then when I looked to Ugo he was on his knee with a ring! So surprised I had no clue!

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
Holy Name of Jesus.
It was close to the Audubon Tea Room and with everyone coming in town from Brazil we wanted to make it as easy as possible.
Also in Brazil Ugo went to a Catholic Jesuit School and Holy Name of Jesus is a Jesuit Church. That is why we chose it.

Where was your Reception held and why did you pick this site?
Audubon Tea Room.
It was the perfect fit thanks to Corine’s advice!!! Forever thankful Corine!!

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
Live painter, Michael Jackson, 2nd line band, Brazilian dessert wedding favors and New Orleans dessert wedding favors.

What was your favorite part of the day?
The reception! Had so much fun dancing to Louisiana Spice.

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
Yes :((( too quickly. Wish it could have been a 5 hour reception instead of 4!!

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
I choose Coral, Navy, and Gold. I love pink, blue and gold so that is why I chose them. I let the bridesmaids choose any color of the shades of coral from light to dark.
Ugo loves Navy and Gold so the groomsmen wore the navy suits!

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
La Louisiane Bakery. My absolute favorite bakery!! I will forever love them!!
My cake was almond cake with almond mousseline and American buttercream.
Ugo’s cake was chocolate and red velvet cake with praline mousseline and American buttercream.

Did you do a first look? If so how did you feel about it? If not, do you wish you had?
No, but happy how things turned out.

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
Yes I had a coordinator and I’m so happy I did!! Definitely helped me stay calm on the wedding day!

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
Louisiana Spice. Love them so much!!! Everyone could not stop talking about how great they were!

We want to hear YOUR advice for future brides.
Don’t waste a minute at the reception! Enjoy yourself with your husband! It goes by too quickly!

Anything else you want to say?
Thank you to Corine, Kacie, and Beebe!!! Y’all are the BEST and we are so thankful for all the amazing photos!! Y’all made our day amazing! Love y’all!
